Graham & Jen

This is the most viewed image on my America's Finest Kids MODEL MAYHEM account. As most of you know, my photo essay on youth culture as art is primarily male based in content. However, not all the males are gay...many are straight, some bi-sexual. I do photograph females as they fit into the story line of photo shoot and or documentary. It's been over 10 years since this image was created...it remains timeless.
Sincerely,

Terry Smith

I've been following your work for some time. I like this image because you've tied the female characters as they fit into the stories you see through your male-centric lens. However, your imagery seems homogenous from a race/ethnicity standpoint. Where do young men of color fit in your lens? If so, at all?

I photograph people I'm drawn to, friends and people that come into my life. This thing "of color"...is over used. We all are just another shade of brown; unless one is an Albino.
